I haven't been there in years. Seriously, since 2008. They have all of this 'content' and it's all opinion but they classify come of it -- including Marjorie Cohn's column - as "news."
All the contributors they have and they can't serve up news?
C.I., Ava, Wally and Kat reported yesterday on a Senate Committee hearing. If they can do that, why can't anyone else? And if Truthout has no one who can make it to DC, they don't have anyone who can report on state legislatures?
Even more hilarious, TruthOut offers "BuzzFlash" headlines. I've never gone back to Buzz and never will. But how I did laugh at their or "their" top ten which inldued a New York Times' editorial and similar content that they didn't originate.
How very telling. They've taken in how much money for how many years and they still can't offer even a tiny smattering of reporting.
They worship at the feet of so many false gods -- like their false god Bill Moyers. I decided it was time to go back to 2009 and note how Bill Moyers (working for LBJ's administration) was, as Boston Edge's put it, a "homo hunter:"
Moreover, Moyers, who served as Johson’s press secretary, was also dispatched to investigate Goldwater’s people.
Shafer quoted from an article by Laurence H. Sulberman from 2005, in which Silberman recounted that, "Bill Moyers, was tasked to direct Hoover to do an investigation of Goldwater’s staff to find similar evidence of homosexual activity.
"Mr. Moyers’ memo to the FBI was in one of the files," Silberman’s article continued.
"When the press reported this, I received a call in my office from Mr. Moyers," the Silberman article went on.
"Several of my assistants were with me. He was outraged; he claimed that this was another example of the Bureau salting its files with phony CIA memos. I was taken aback.
"I offered to conduct an investigation, which if his contention was correct, would lead me to publicly exonerate him," the article added.
"There was a pause on the line and then he said, ’I was very young. How will I explain this to my children?’"
Wrote Schafer in the Slate article, "How will Moyers explain it to his children? By setting aside a chapter in his big, forthcoming Lyndon Johnson book."
An earlier article by Schafer titled "The Intolerable Smugness of Bill Moyers" garnered a response www.slate.com/id/2212105/ from Moyers.
How will he explain it to his children?
Fortunately for him, the likes of Amy Goodman, et al, didn't see fit to make it a news story or even a headline. The same way when an idiot but beloved leader (Evo Morales) went into a homophobic rant in public, Goody, Naomi Klein and all the rest looked the other way. They have their pets in the circle jerk.
Myself, I'll stand with the truth.
