This won't be a long post. I am tired. I have been falling asleep all the time for the last three weeks.
My brother's getting married. He's gay, the wedding will take place in the north. I have had to set up everything. That's not me playing drama queen. He called three weeks ago and asked me what I would think if he got married?
I told him I'd be thrilled.
He wasn't sure how the family would respond.
And it did end up being an issue for two. They got over it and are on board. (Every one knew he was gay long ago. Two just briefly seemed to think marriage was only special if they could treat it as an exclusive club.) Since two were acting that way, one wasn't able to help and it fell to me to organize. He asked me if I could do it. He worked on the rings and the honeymoon stuff.
I say thank you to Ruth and C.I. for filling in.

And Ruth will be back with you tomorrow night.
I'll be at a wedding.
And thank you to C.I. First off, she offered to pay and I appreciated that. But I have the money so that wasn't a problem. The other thing she did was give me names and names and names. "Call ___, tell them you're my friend and . . ." This is how we got a great place at the last minute (this time of year, three weeks isn't enough time to plan a big wedding), it's how we got so much.
I've only seen photos and diagrams of the place that's housing the wedding but I think it'll be great. My daughter's going to be a flower girl. The boys are too big to be ring bearers but they're going to be ushers. And all of my family is coming from Georgia.
Oh, thank you to C.I. on that. I offered to pay and they wouldn't let me. Some can afford to fly, some can't. I bitched, moaned and whined to C.I. every night on the phone. She listend and always had great ideas. On this one she pointed out all of her miles because she's always flying and suggested I see if they'd take the miles since they wouldn't take my money.
That worked. Now everyone can just focus on enjoying the day.
And I'm really excited for my brother. If you've read my site for very long, you know he taught me about music and pretty much everything. He's the best big brother anyone could ever want and I really want tomorrow to be special for him.
