I've never watched an episode in full and don't believe I've ever even watched one in part. I've seen some parodies.
If I were ever going to watch, it would be to see Nicolette Sheridan and, of course, she's no longer on the show.
So the show could have come and gone without my ever checking it out.
But "Ugly Betty" got killed off and Vanessa Williams has moved over to "Desperate Housewives." Therefore, I told myself I would check out the first episode.
Vanessa plays the friend of the brainy one. You know she's the brainy one because she wears the least makeup and gets spit up on by a baby. Then there's Terri Hatcher who I know from Lois & Clark. (And I like Terri. She's funny.) There's Eva Mendez or whatever who plays Gabby and I know her from several films. The other main woman is Crazy Kimberly from Melrose. I will never see her as anything but Crazy Kimberly.
Never forget that episode where Kimberly returned from the dead, was in love with Michael only she wasn't. She wanted to kill him. Why? She took off the wig (we didn't know it was a wig) and there was the scar.
Vanessa plays the smart one's friend from college.
She had no real scene and just banter and patter until the smart one moved to kick her out (she was sleeping ont he smart one's couch) and Vanessa explained her husband was cheating, she confronted him, he chose his mistress.
That was a great scene for her.
Enough to get me to watch next week. But if this is Diahann Carroll time -- referring to Dynasty -- where they bring on a Black actress with big plans and then do nothing with her? If that's what this is, I'll be out of here so quick. They've already tried someone (Angela Basset or Alfre Woodard, I forget which) on the show and quickly did nothing with her.
Other than Vanessa, what I liked?
Doug Savant was likeable as the smart one's husband. His second best scene was walking in on Vanessa telling smart one that she used to be so wild and reminding smart one of the three-way smart one had with the two rugby players. His best scene? It ended with him reminding the smart one that he asked for something on his 40th birthday but she said no; however, considering new information (the three-way), he wants to ask for it again.
Terri Hatcher is hilarious. She really is. She's just started an online career -- she cleans the tiny apartment wearing very little clothes while customers online pay to stream. Terri's funny. She sold some earrings to the smart one (who bought them out of pity) and Vanessa then insulted them. Terri's reaction was priceless.
Brian Austin Green. He was wearing tanks around Crazy Kimberly (working on her house). Get him shirtless already. I never liked him until he did the Terminator TV show. He was so good on that and I was so sad when his character (Derek) died.
Gabby and her daughter Juanita Solis. (I hope I have the girl's name right.) That's the best relationship on the show.
And if you missed the episode, Gabby's daughter? Not her daughter. The hospital told her husband that they had a drunken nurse all those years ago and Gabby was switched with their actual daughter.
